Make A Difference Day (MADD) is the most encompassing national day of helping others -- a
celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can participate. Created by USA WEEKEND
Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday
of every October. In 2008, 3 million people cared enough about their communities to volunteer
on that day, accomplishing thousands of projects in hundreds of towns.
In partnership with Lane Community College, the UO has decided to participate in Make A
Difference Day for the first time. In order to start a strong tradition, the Service Learning Program
hopes to have over 300 students, faculty, and staff volunteer. Make this dream become a reality
and sign up today to make a difference.
