Peer Leadership Consultants (PLCs) work with the Holden Leadership Center staff in numerous capacities. PLCs have office hours where they provide service to the general UO population giving guidance and advice to students on a walk in basis.  In addition, PLC’s provide support for HLC marketing efforts by creating and enacting marketing plans that outreach to the campus community.  They may also provide logistical assistance at events; provide general office support; assist in maintaining the website; and other administrative tasks.  PLC’s also have the opportunity to improve their personal leadership skills through goal setting, professional development and mentoring from the HLC staff.

The ideal candidate for this position should possess a great deal of knowledge and understanding of campus groups, opportunities, and organizations. This position is a great opportunity to interact with other students and student groups. This position must become an expert on nearly every aspect of the Holden Leadership Center. Candidates will be comfortable talking in front of groups and individuals to promote the events and opportunities the HLC has to offer. They should also be able to handle multiple tasks and shift from one to the next quickly. Responsibilities include promoting and implementing peer leadership consultations as well as representing the HLC at campus events like IntroDucktion, Duck Days, and the Street Fair.  Journalism and/or graphic design skills are suggested, but not required. 

General Duties:

·    8-12 office hours each week during academic year

·    Attend all retreats and training programs

·    Participate in weekly staff meeting

·    Facilitate the Leadership Consultation Process

·    Help with Duck Days, Duck Preview, and Week of Welcome
