The Freshman Interest Groups [FIG] program is designed to promote the successful transition of first-year   students into the University of Oregon. Each FIG consists of approximately 25 first-term students enrolled in two general-education courses that share a particular area of focus as well as in a 1-credit College Connections course taught by a faculty member.

Teaching Assistant's Role. The TA position offers exceptional students the opportunity to be both a leader and mentor to first-year students participating in the FIG program. TAs assist College Connections  professors in the instruction of the course and are responsible for organizing educational and social activities with students such as library orientation, study groups, lunch with a professor, and field trips. Application process begins winter term.
