How do firms organize and utilize their human resources to successfully compete in dynamic and competitive business environments? This course addresses the strategic, operational, and ethical issues associated with effectively managing human resources in organizations who compete in diverse industries and among diverse cultures.

Special attention is given to effectively managing project teams in view of their importance in facilitating goal attainment in contemporary organizations and that fact that students are often called upon to work in teams across the business curriculum.

This course is the first of three integrated courses that are required as part of the general management core of the undergraduate business program. The course provides a foundation for BA 452 (Leadership) and BA 453 (Business Planning and Strategy) which are taken in the senior year. Required for the business and accounting major.
