Each September, the Adventure Leadership Institute (ALI) embrks on an outdoor immersion-based educational experience focused on building decision making, communication, leadership, and interpersonal relationship skills that will set students up for success in their first year of college. ALI aims to offer a transition from summer activities to college life by giving you an increased understanding of leadership theories and your own personal capabilities; all discovered within a dynamic outdoor environment that creates an unforgettable learning experience in the spectacular Northwest wilderness. While the participants of this program will be mentally and physically challenged, we invite you to begin your University of Oregon career with a leadership experience you will never forget.

If you have questions about ALI, contact our Assistant Director for Experiential Learning, Eric Boggs. Or, check out our FAQ sheet for additional information.
“I have been a boy scout and received my eagle … I have been in a number of leadership roles, but this trip broke down the different leadership styles and I have never learned so much about my own leadership. I think more people need to have an experience like this. I have grown so much in five days.” - 2011 ALI Participant
